Åland Post is now expanding its e-commerce logistics operations outside Åland. Operations in Vantaa, Finland, will start from October 2019, bringing together over 20 years of experience in the industry under the new brand Axla Logistics.

“For a long time we have been working with e-commerce merchants from Scandinavia and the rest of Europe who distribute items throughout the world. Now we want to support Finnish and Nordic e-commerce merchants who want to reach out into other markets. With the Axla venture, we are positioning ourselves as an evident player in the e-commerce ecosystems of the Nordic market,” says Mats Polviander, Business Area Director for Axla Logistics.

From October 2019, all services will be available in Vantaa, located next to Helsinki International Airport, under the new brand Axla Logistics. E-commerce logistics primarily includes incoming inventory, warehousing, order processing, packing, postage and return handling. Axla can customise its services to cater for the requirements of any e-trader.

Axla’s new fulfilment centre in Vantaa is located inside the EU customs and VAT union. This means our clients benefit from faster deliveries and less bureaucracy when shipping goods to consumers in EU and the rest of the world. Axla also continues to provide e-commerce logistics operations from the Åland Islands.

“Through our experience and the global network of business partners that we have built up over the years, we can offer a wide range of services and expertise in the field of e-commerce. Flexible delivery and versatile shipping methods are important elements of the customer experience. We want to support Finnish e-traders to succeed in their efforts,” says Polviander.
